Archeology and nomadic lifestyle
Mongolia
The journey takes us 700 km from Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, to the town of Tuvshinshiree - and from there there is only the steppe. As far as the eye can see, the land is flat with a few smaller hills. Awaiting is three weeks of camping under the opening sky. Mongolian colleagues. Work under the scorching sun with the goal of uncovering artifacts from 30.000 years ago.

Nomadic lifestyle
The weeks in Mongolia was not solely work, but it also consisted of exposure to the local Mongolian culture, language and music. I saw the nomadic lifestyle up close, and I could have never imagined how physically and mentally strong one has to be to independently provide for one self in the middle of the steppe far away from the closest neighbor. I was intrigued to learn more about nomadism in Mongolia, and never the less to learn how people lived thousands of years ago. And that is what the project was about.
